NB Power says January's ice storm most expensive in utility's history
NB Power says January's ice storm led to the most expensive restoration effort in the utility's history.
The Crown-owned utility says costs are estimated at $30 million.
That includes labour for repair crews, fuel for trucks, replacement poles, transformers and other equipment.
At the peak of the storm, 133,000 customers lost power, mainly on the Acadian Peninsula, and in the Miramichi and Kent County areas.
