Progressive Agriculture Safety Day in Florenceville-Bristol Thursday

More than 450 Grade 5 students from schools along the River Valley from Nackawic to Grand Falls will participate in Progressive Agriculture Safety Day in Florenceville-Bristol today.

Hosted by WorkSafeNB, in collaboration with local school districts, Potatoes NB, and various community partners, the event offers hands-on activities to help youngsters identify safety hazards at home, on a farm, or in everyday activities.

Each student will have the opportunity to visit up to eight different stations. Safety stations include first aid, lawn equipment safety, chemical safety, fire prevention and safety, ATV safety and tractor safety.

More than 70 volunteers will be on site to share information and guide activities.
