Woodstock standoff suspect due in court next month
A 21-year-old man arrested after a six-hour standoff with police in Woodstock last month is due on court on July 6th to enter pleas.
The Bugle Observer reports that Edward John Hayes remains in custody, facing two counts of mischief and a breach charge in relation to the standoff.
Woodstock Police responded to the scene on Union Street shortly after midnight on May 12th after a report of gun shots inside a home.
RCMP and the Fredericton Police Force's emergency response team were also called in and Hayes was taken into custody without incident.
The newspaper says Hayes was already scheduled to appear in court on July 6th on other matters.
