Major construction work coming to de la Savane
Construction work on de la Savane and the surrounding area, known as the Triangle, will start this June and run for 2 years, according to an announcement today by Cote Des Neiges-NDG borough mayor Russell Copeman and Snowdon city councillor Marvin Rotrand.
The work will involve major changes to de la Savane, including a new bike path and more room for pedestrians at the expense of parking space.
Rotrand told CJAD 800 that the construction on de la Savane was not just meant to improve the quality of the road, but also to make it more friendly for public transit.
Rotrand also said they would make sure that construction did not have a major impact on business in the area, and would not make it more difficult for area residents to get around.
The construction work will cost $15 million, but total investment in the area from the city will be closer to $60 million.
