15-20 cm of snow expected in Montreal
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Montreal area.
They're calling for 15-20 cm of snow in total.
Strong winds are also expected, which will cause local blowing snow.
Today will see snow, at times heavy, beginning around 8 a.m.
The snow is expected to change into rain this afternoon — there's a risk of the rain turning into freezing rain.
The rain is expected to change back into snow again tonight or overnight.
Winds will gust at 30-50 km/h throughout the day.
It's a high of plus one.
Tomorrow will also see periods of snow with more flurries expected tomorrow night. Winds are expected to blow between 40 and 60 km/h.
The temperature will stay steady near plus 1.
Environment Canada is recommending that people remove snow from roofs to avoid the risk of them collapsing under the weight of snow.
They also suggest people consider changing non essential travel plans.
