4-year prison sentence for former SQ officer following teen's shooting death

A former SQ officer has been sentenced to four years behind bars for the 2014 manslaughter of a 17-year-old youth in the parking lot of a high school north of Montreal.

46-year old Eric Deslauriers was sentenced to the minimum penalty for manslaughter involving a firearm.

David-Hughes Lacour was suspected of stealing a car in Sainte-Adèle.

There was a car chase, which ended in the parking lot where Lacour, who died later in hospital, was shot twice by Deslauriers.

Deslauriers argued he acted in self-defence, adding the 17-year old Lacour was planning to run him over with his car.
