Alan DeSousa says he's moving on after Liberal party quashes his nomination candidacy

Alan DeSousa says there's not much he can do about it, that he's decided to move on.

The Saint Laurent borough mayor recently announced his candidacy for the federal Liberal nomination in the riding of Saint Laurent, which was recently represented by Stephane Dion, who accepted a diplomatic post overseas.

Without giving an explanation, the party rejected DeSousa's candidacy.

He then appealed, but was rejected once more, again without a reason given.

Former Quebec Liberal MNA Yolande James and Marwah Rizqy, an economist, have been recognized as candidates for the nomination.

Rizqy ran unsuccessfully for the Liberals in the 2015 election.
