Another record-breaking hot day in Montreal

Montreal has broken another heat record on this seventh day of the heatwave.

The high for today reached 34.2 degrees Celsius, with a humidex of 43 degrees.

The previous record was 32.8 degrees in 2003.

The hottest spot in the province was La Tuque, where the temperature got up to 33.9 degrees.

Three other heat records were smashed on Sunday, Monday and yesterday.

This has been the longest heatwave with consecutive days where daytime highs were at or above 31 degrees.

We should be getting some relief overnight with some rain and then tomorrow when the temperature should reach 23 degrees.
