April showers could bring...more May showers in the Montreal area

Much of April was spent under cloudy conditions and a lot of rain came with it, so much so that we're closing in on a record.

Prior to this morning, 147 mm of rain has fallen over the Montreal area since the beginning of the month. According to Environment Canada, that's more than double the typical amount of expected rainfall in the month of April.

The record for the month is 159 mm, set in 2005. But Environment Canada's Jean-Philippe Bégin doesn't think that record will be reached. He expects between 2 and 4 mm of rain Sunday.

Bégin also says we could see even more rain in early May as another low pressure system could blanket the region next week.
