Boil water advisory for section of St-Laurent Blvd

The City of Montreal has issued a preventative boil water advisory for a one block section of St-Laurent Blvd. between Duluth and Rachel in the Plateau Mont-Royal borough.

The advisory comes after a water main appeared to burst and send water rushing into the street Wednesday.

Residents are advised to boil their tap water for at least one minute before using it to:

  • Drink
  • Prepare baby bottles/food
  • Rinse fruits/vegetables
  • Make ice
  • Brush their teeth
  • Rinse their mouth
  • Give to their pets

Tap water can be used to wash dishes (in hot water) so long as they are dried well and for washing clothes. Residents can use the water for a shower or bath, but it is important to not swallow the water.

The advisory is in place until further notice.
