Boil water advisory lifted in Varennes
A boil water advisory that was issued for the south shore municipality of Varennes on Wednesday has been lifted.
The advisory was put in place after traces of E. coli were found in a water sample.
The city announced on Friday morning that 48 hours of further testing revealed no trace of bacteria.
Nonetheless, the city advises residents to run their tap water for a few minutes before consuming the water, and to empty, clean and disinfect ice machines.
