CFIA issues expanded national pie-crust recall

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded a recall originally issued earlier this week affecting pies and pie-crusts widely available at grocery stores across the country.  The products involved in the recall could be contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

Harlan Bakeries and Mom's Pantry are now recalling various brands of pies and pie-crusts because the products could be contaminated with E. coli O121 bacteria.

The CFIA points out that food contaminated with E. coli might not appear visibly contaminated, but that it could still cause illness. Possible symptoms include nausea, vomiting, cramping and diarrhea.
