CJAD 800 fixture Art Bell, founder and original host of Coast to Coast AM, dies at 72

A longtime fixture on CJAD 800 has died.
Art Bell was the founder and the original host of the paranormal-themed overnight radio program Coast to Coast AM.

It was syndicated on hundreds of radio stations in the U.S. and Canada.

He was 72 when he died at home in the Nevada desert on Friday, officials said.

Bell broadcast from his home and talked about UFOs, conspiracies and cover-ups for over 15 years.

He came out of retirement on multiple occasions and did his last show in 2010, but was then replaced by George Noory.

An autopsy is planned.
