Ex-Liberal Marguerite Blais returning to politics to run for the CAQ: reports
There are several reports suggesting that the longtime former Liberal MNA for St. Henri-Ste. Anne is getting back into politics — as a member of the Coalition Avenir Québec.
Marguerite Blais was first elected in 2007, and became then-premier Jean Charest's minister responsible for seniors. She quit politics in 2015 — in part, because she was left out of Philippe Couillard's cabinet following the Liberals' election victory the year before.
None of the reports are hinting at where the 67-year-old former TV host will run.
The CAQ is neither confirming nor denying the reports. The suggestion is an official announcement will be made within days.
