Extreme weather conditions lead to power outages across Quebec
Strong winds Friday night have resulted in tens of thousands of power outages across the province.
As of 11pm, more than 171 000 Hydro Quebec customers were without power.
The utility says there are more than 56 000 outages in the Outaouais, including 28 000 in Gatineau.
42 000 homes and businesses are without power in the Monteregie and another 19 000 households are affected in the Laurentiens.
In Montreal, there are 38 000 clients impacted. Some of the areas include Pointe Claire, Beaconsfield, Verdun, Pierrefonds and Lasalle.
Hydro crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.
A wind warning remains in effect for Montreal, Laval and the South Shore.
Environment Canada says wind gusts could reach up to 90 km/h before calming down overnight and into Saturday morning.
