Family desperately looking for missing daughter triples reward money
The parents of a Quebec City woman who mysteriously vanished nearly nine years ago are appealing to the public once again to find out what happened to their daughter.
Marilyn Bergeron was 24 when she disappeared on Feb. 17, 2008, from the family home in the Quebec City area.
She had just returned to live with her parents and promised to explain the circumstances fully to her family.
But a day later, Bergeron left on foot from the residence and disappeared.
Her parents attended a news conference today in Montreal where it was announced a reward for information has been tripled to $30,000 from $10,000.
Marc Bellemare, a high-profile lawyer and former Quebec justice minister, has also been hired to field calls confidentially.
