Far-right group mounts banner campaign

The far-right group Atalante Quebec is claiming responsibility for anti-migrant banners that have popped up over the past week, vowing that it will not be muzzled.

On its Facebook page, the group says it has positioned more than a dozen banners, one of them at the Olympic Stadium, which is serving right now as an emergency shelter for newly arrived migrants, many of them Haitians crossing illegally into Canada from the U.S. at a point south of Montreal..

The banners bear the word "remigration" and are interpreted as an invitation for migrants to head back to their own countries.
