Fatal accident on Highway 10 near Granby

A 52-year-old trucker from Sherbrooke lost his life Friday morning in a crash on Highway 10.

Two tractor-trailer trucks and one tow truck were involved in the incident, which took place on the eastbound portion of the highway at around exit 74 near Bromont at around 9 a.m. Friday.

Police say the tow truck operator was trying to hook one of the big rigs onto his truck when the other big rig slammed into both of them. The force of the impact sent the three vehicles into a ditch.

The truck driver of the truck being hooked up was the one who died. Two others suffered injuries.

As of 3 p.m. Friday, a section of the eastbound 10 remains blocked off between exits 74 and 78.
