Four officers hospitalized during raid of suspected drug lab
Four Montreal police officers were taken to hospital after investigating a suspected drug lab.
A tip to 9-1-1 led police to the garage behind an apartment building on Cuvillier St. near Adam St. in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
Inside they found equipment believed to be used to produce synthetic drugs.
During the raid four officers began experiencing symptoms related to breathing in toxic substances. They were taken to hospital as a precaution.
The Montreal fire department's hazardous materials team was called in and spent about four hours on site before clearing the scene.
During the operation nine nearby apartments were evacuated.
No arrests have been made.
