Fun fact: Eating soap won't help you beat a breathalyzer test

There is only one surefire way to beat a breathalyzer test: don't drive drunk.

Police in Mont-Tremblant arrested a young man in his 20s after he ignored officers' advice and decided to get behind the wheel after a night out.

It happened Friday night. Police met the young man after he was tossed from a bar for being quite intoxicated. At the time he promised that would not attempt to drive home given his impaired state.

He lied.

About 90 minutes later officers pulled over a vehicle, suspecting the driver was intoxicated, only to find it was the same young man. He was taken to the local police station where officers had him take a breathalyzer test.

However just before taking the test, in some kind of attempt to thwart the alcohol detecting device, the man rinsed his mouth out with hand soap.

He failed.

According to police the suspect's blood alcohol level of 110 mg per 100 ml of blood, well above the 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml legally allowed.
