Gas prices set to climb to 145.9 in Montreal
This week's spike in the price of gas will bring the price of a litre of regular up to 145.9 cents.
That's a bit lower than it went up to last week by three cents, but still higher than it's been for several years.
Part of the reason is the recent rise of the world price of oil — on Monday, the U.S. price of a barrel of oil crashed through the $70-per-barrel mark for the first time in four years.
There are concerns that Iranian exports of oil will decrease if the U.S. pulls out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. U.S. president Donald Trump is expected to make an announcement on that on Tuesday.
As usual, the increase at the pumps here in Montreal is expected to happen gradually throughout the day on Monday.
