The union representing professionals at Loto-Quebec have called off a strike that was set to begin tomorrow.
The workers were planning to walk off the job for nine days to protest lagging contract talks.
The union representing 450 workers suggested the strike could have compromised ticket sales and validation.
They want better job security for its members as well as salary increases matching those granted to professionals working for Hydro-Quebec.
The union said they want to focus on kickstarting negotiations.
In a statement, the union said they made some gains in an intensive round of negotiations today.
