Grinch disguised as Santa fired from Fairview mall in Pointe-Claire
When Santa Claus was making his list and checking twice, it turns out one of his helpers at the Fairview shopping centre in Pointe-Claire was on the naughty side.
A little over a week after Santa Claus setup his own version of the North Pole inside the mall; shoppers noticed something was a little off with one of the men playing the role of Ol' Saint Nick.
Parents took to social media, complaining when they went to visit Santa he was grumpy, curt, had mean eyes and even shouted at child.
One woman wrote on the Fairview mall's Facebook page that when her 7-year-old daughter wanted to take a picture of the Santa with her new camera from the sidelines he got mad, asking her if she had a reservation. When the girl said it was simply for her memory book and she wouldn't be in the photo at all, the problematic Pere Noel snapped back at her telling the young girl to go wait in line.
Two years ago the mall started taking appointments to visit Santa, allowing parents to skip long lines, but they are not needed to visit Kris Kringle.
Cadillac Fairview told the Gazette after investigating the complaints the bad Santa has been replaced with a new one.
