Home of Lester's Deli owner raided by AMF

The home of the owner of Lester’s Deli was raided Wednesday morning by the province's financial authorities.

Investigators with Quebec's financial securities regulator, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, arrived at the home of Bill Berenholc on Fleet Rd. in Hampstead.

Berenholc is the owner of Lester’s Deli, a smoked meat restaurant that's been a fixture on Bernard Ave. in Outremont for more than 60 years.

Lester's Deli is not to be confused with Lesters, a brand of hot dogs and processed meats.

Berenholc's daughter, who works at the restaurant, says the investigation is not related to the restaurant, which remains open for business as usual.
