Just stay away from the Decarie Expressway this weekend

It may seem a little early to talk about weekend road closures, but this is a big one, so you best plan ahead.

Work being done on the St-Jacques St. overpass will force a major closure on both sides of the Decarie Expressway.

Starting Friday at 10:00 P.M. Decarie northbound is closed as of Turcot until the Edouard-Montpetit entrance. On the southbound side the Expressway will be closed as of Sherbrooke.

The ramps connecting Route 136 (new Ville Marie) and Highway 20 to the northbound Expressway will be closed as well.

As of 8:30 P.M. the Royalmount, Jean-Talon, Cote-St-Luc Rd. and Girouard ramps onto Decarie southbound will be closed.

Starting at 9:00 P.M. the ramp towards Decarie South from Highway 40 west will be shut down.

Also at 10:00 P.M. Highway 15 north will be closed as of Exit 63 - De La Vérendrye Blvd.

All closures will be in effect until Monday at 5:00 A.M.

The Quebec Transport Ministry is advising motorists to avoid the area all together as it is expected to be extremely congested.
