Last of the Old Turcot pillars comes down
The last pillar of the old Turcot Interchange was torn down Tuesday.
The latest bit of destruction brings the overall demolition of the old Interchange to 97 per cent.
Transport Quebec marked the occasion with a video on its Twitter account and a side by side comparison of the Interchange from 2005 to now.
Crews will now concentrate their efforts on building the new southbound Highway 15 structure and completing the rest of the westbound side of Route 136 (new Ville Marie). Both are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
The overall revamp of the Turcot Interchange is now at 73 per cent complete, with project expected to be finished by the end of 2020.
