Liberal MNA quits caucus after allegedly sending sexually explicit pic to party staffer
Argenteuil MNA Yves St-Denis has stepped aside from the Quebec Liberal caucus after a report broke suggesting he had sent an inappropriate photo to a party staffer.
A report from Cogeco Nouvelles on Tuesday suggested the female employee brought a complaint to the Liberal party whip late last year, despite the fact it apparently happened four years ago. Shortly after the 2014 election, the then-rookie MNA allegedly sent the employee a photo of someone receiving oral sex. St. Denis told Cogeco it was a still from a porno movie, while the staffer in question believes the man in the picture was in fact St. Denis.
The news spread quickly through the Liberal ranks, and just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, premier Philippe Couillard's entourage supposedly gave St. Denis an ultimatum — quit, or be tossed from caucus. He chose to quit.
Cogeco also reports St. Denis is already under investigation by the Liberals after other party employees cited the MNA for instances of intimidation, harassment, and sexually charged jokes and remarks.
