Liberals' election campaign chairman "shocked" to learn of PQ membership
There's word the Parti Quebecois simply wants an email from the Quebec Liberal party's new election campaign chairman, and it'll cancel his party membership.
Alexandre Taillefer, who's quoted saying he was shocked to learn of his PQ membership, has donated to all the big Quebec parties.
He says he wasn't aware that making political donations made him a member.
Asked by CTV's Maya Johnson if he was surprised by Taillefer's apparent political switch, Premier Philippe Couillard said he was happy.
"It's a sign of the times, people are coming back to us", added the Premier.
Among other things, Taillefer has announced he's relinquishing management of his media company Mishmash, which publishes magazines such as L'Actualité.
He had been accused by the opposition of a potential conflict of interest.
