Life sentence for young Montreal man who killed ex-girlfriend
A young Montrealer who killed his ex-girlfriend 4 years ago, is going to prison for a long time.
Jonathan Mahautiere, who was 18 at the time, has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 11 years.
Mahautiere strangled 17-year-old Gabrielle Dufresne-Élie in a motel in the east end after a bad breakup.
It happened at the motel Chablis on Sherbrooke Street East on June 7th, 2014.
A jury found him guilty of second-degree murder in the girl's death last month.
