LOOK: Las Vegas unveils new uniform

And then there was 31...

On the eve of the NHL expansion draft that will give the Las Vegas Golden Knights player names to fill its empty roster slots, the new club unveiled its uniforms.

The Golden Knights official uniform uses the team's already unveiled helmet-and-shield logo, with a mixture of the already announced team colours of steel grey, gold, red and black. The players will wear white gloves with gold trim; no team in the NHL currently wears white gloves.

The away jersey is the standard white, with silver, gold and red sleeves.

Along with the unveiling of the Golden Knights uniform, the NHL and new jersey provider Adidas showed off the latest uniforms for the other 30 teams.

Not much has changed around the league, most teams kept the same design as last year, with a couple minor changes. In the case of the Edmonton Oilers the team officially swapped its home (blue) and third (orange) jerseys.

The Canadiens will continue on with the iconic Habs jersey fans know and love. This year a nice touch was added to the collar with the words "Nos bras meurtris vous tendent le flambeau" printed on the inside.

The words, "To you from failing hands we throw the torch" are a passage from the World War I poem In Flanders Fields, written by Canadian army officer, physician and poet John McCrae. They have appeared above the stalls inside the Canadiens dressing room since 1952, put there by then-general manager Frank Selke Sr.
