Loto Quebec to introduce E-BINGO in the province

Loto-Quebec has announced a pilot project designed to bring bingo into the 21st century.

This fall the lottery corporation plans to introduce an electronic version of the game in an effort to attract younger players.

The Journal de Montreal reports the average age of a bingo player in Quebec is 60 and one of the advantages of E-Bingo is that the game can be played on tablets and iPad's as well as paper cards.

Loto-Quebec says the number of bingo halls in Quebec has fallen from 176 in 1997 to just 49 today.

Bingo game revenue has dropped $100 million from 2009 to $174 million last year.
