Man found dead in downtown hotel
A man in his fifties was found dead in a hotel downtown Saturday evening in an event authorities are describing as "suspicious."
The victim was reportedly discovered by a janitor at the hotel, located on de l'Hôtel-de-Ville Avenue at René-Lévesque Boulevard. Police say he called 911 at around 7:20 pm.
According to Montreal police, the victim's body bore signs of violence. He was pronouned dead at the scene.
Foresnic analysts remain on-site, with a perimeter erected while the investigation continues. Hôtel-de-Ville was closed for part of the evening between René-Lévesque Boulevard and De La Gauchetière Street.
