Man who forgot infant son in hot car won't be charged with a crime

The Crown says a father whose six month-old child died when he was forgotten in a hot car earlier this summer won't be charged with a crime.

On June 22, the man showed up to a daycare on William St. and Robert-Bourassa Boulevard to pick up the child — only to be told by daycare staff that the child was never dropped off.

The child was instead found unconscious in his carseat. He was never dropped off at the daycare in the morning, as he was supposed to be.

Daycare workers tried in vain to perform CPR, but the child was pronounced dead by first responders.
