Midget AAA hockey coach accused of sexual acts against a minor

The head coach of a South Shore Midget AAA hockey team was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly had sexual contact with a teenager.

Jonathan Bussière, of the Châteauguay Grenadiers, appeared at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and was indicted on four charges including: sexual contact with a minor, inciting a minor to engage in sexual activity and obtaining sexual services for a fee.

Midget AAA players are between 15 and 17-years-old.

The alleged incidents took place between October 1, 2016 and October 22, 2018 in Sainte-Martine and Howick, in the Montérégie region. According to the Journal de Montreal did not involve a player on the team.

The 33-year-old remains in custody.

Shortly after his arrest, Hockey Quebec announced Bussière had been relieved of his duties as coach of the team.
