Montreal police seek possible victims of accused sex offender

Montreal police are looking for possible victims of a man they say they believe sexually assaulted a woman he followed from an STM bus in the west end.

Adamo Bono, 35, was arrested March 7 and is charged with sexual assault and kidnapping.

Police say on March 2, at around 6:40 p.m., the victim was on an STM bus heading west on Van Horne when the suspect boarded the bus. Police say the suspect sat next to the victim, stared at her, followed her off the bus, tried to talk to her and then when she was close to her destination, grabbed her and forced her into a wooded area where he sexually assaulted her. The woman managed to get away but the suspect followed her to a friend's home and only fled when her friend opened the door.

Police say they believe there may be more victims under similar circumstances, also in the west end of the city.

Anyone with information can call 9-1-1 or go to their local police station.
