More wild winter weather to hit Montreal?
Forget what some groundhogs told you last weekend, Environment Canada issued a Special Weather Statement on Sunday about a double-barreled weather system that's expected to reach Montreal late on Tuesday.
While the system itself is not quite a nor'easter, it may pack a punch.
Heavy snow and blowing snow is currently expected on Tuesday evening and through the the overnight period into Wednesday. The bulk of the snow is expected to fall overnight and Montreal could have anywhere from fifteen to thirty centimetres of the white stuff by the time you wake up on Wednesday morning.
Environment Canada also warns that strong winds combined with the snow could significantly reduce visibility in blowing snow. The rapidly accumulating snow and blowing snow could also snarl traffic and air travel.
