Mother of missing Quebecer in Burkina Faso expects happy ending

Still no sign of a Quebec woman and her boyfriend missing in Burkina Faso in West Africa.

Sherbrooke resident Edith Blais and Italian boyfriend Luca Tacchetto haven't been heard from in three weeks.

They posted posted on facebook December 15th, but there's been no communication since.

Blais' mother Jocelyne Bergeron said more information's being gathered in the case, but there's been nothing concrete.

She did, however, express optimism in an interview with CTV News Channel.

"We do have people saying that they've seen them at different places, people that don't know each other, that repeated that they did see them, they're sure it's them. So, we are very hopeful to find them alive and well", said Bergeron.

Blais' sister said the Italian government seems to be moving faster to find its citizen compared to Canada's Global Affairs.
