New England Patriots beat Los Angeles Rams to win Super Bowl LIII

The New England Patriots have defeated the Los Angeles Rams to win the 53rd Super Bowl.  The final score at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. was 13-3.

Coming one year after the team lost to first-time victors Philadelphia, this year's title is the Patriots' sixth, tying the NFL record with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was the lowest-scoring championship game in the league's history — and for the first time, neither team had scored a touchdown by the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, a rally between Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski led to the game's first and only touchdown, scored by Sony Michel.

The Patriots' 2019 victory is especially bittersweet for the Los Angeles Rams coming 17 years after their last appearance at the Super Bowl, at the time based in St. Louis — when they lost to New England.
