No Aeroplan points for some Air Canada flights under new fare structure
Air Canada has introduced a new fare structure that now includes a basic fare which does not offer Aeroplan reward points.
In a release the company describes its new North American Economy fares as a way to offer customers more flexibility to select the amenities they want while travelling.
The five fares include the lowest price Basic option which will only be available on certain routes and flights which have been booked directly through Air Canada.
No changes are permitted, Aeroplan Miles are not awarded and customers will have to pay for checked bags, advance seat selection, and food and alcohol on board.
The premium fare, called Latitude will offer fully refundable tickets, priority check-in, two complimentary checked bags, advanced seat selection and 125% Aeroplan Miles accrual.
