One arrest after high-speed chase ends in Pincourt: SQ
A high-speed car chase ended in a spectacular crash in the overnight hours.
Provincial Police tried to pull over a 32-year-old man in a white pickup truck, north of Saint-Jerome.
The man took off and police gave chase; but, after a few minutes, they backed off.
Officers had enough information about the driver that they were confident they would eventually catch up to him, according to Ann Mathieu, media relations officer with the Sûreté du Québec.

About an hour later, that’s exactly what happened near the base of the Champlain Bridge.
Once again, the driver failed to pull over for police, and this time officers did not let up. They chased him down Highway 20 another 50km all the way to 3rd Avenue in Pincourt.
Somewhere along the way, police laid out a spike strip, and when the chase finally came to an end, the truck was rolling on just its rims.
Two SQ cars were also damaged in the crash. No injuries have been reported.
The man will appear in court later today on charges of violating parole and dangerous driving.
