One man in hospital, another arrested following Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough stabbing

An argument between two neighbours led to a man stabbing another inside an apartment in Montreal's Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough Friday night.

Montreal police were called to an apartment on Liébert Street near Baillargé at around 11:30. Spokesman Manuel Couture says the incident began with an argument between a man and a woman. At some point, a second man attempted to intervene and was stabbed in the upper body by the man involved in the conflict.

The 40 year old victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is a 24 year old man, who will be questioned by police.
