Orange cones to blame? Montreal's pay parking revenue is down
All the construction around town appears to have reduced pay parking revenues in Montreal
In the city's annual report, Stationnement Montreal reported revenues of 61.6 million dollars for 2016, down 1.3 million from the year before.
This situation is likely to continue as construction sites multiply in the years to come.
Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations and events such as the Formula E Grand Prix are also reducing the number of parking spaces available in the downtown core and other hotspot areas.
Stationnement Montreal also paid the city slightly less in royalties this year, $53.4 million versus $53.5 million in 2015.
