The federal and provincial governments announced their intention to invest $200 million into CAE's efforts to build a new "innovation campus" in Montreal, Premier Phillippe Couillard and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Ville-Saint-Laurent-based aircraft-simulator manufacturer says the government investment will complement a $1 billion investment of its own over the next five yeras that will see 400 new jobs created locally.  Currently, over 3,200 of its 8,500-strong workforce are located at its Montreal headquaters.

CAE is a major player in the aerospace simulation market and has begun to expand into the healthcare market as well. The company's President and CEO Marc Parent emphasized that the investments will help build a new generation of simulators geared towards the digital space.

Mayor Valérie Plante proudly remarked that with the company's decision to further expand its presence in Montreal, "the sky's the limit."
