Plan for the site of the former Montreal Children’s Hospital moves along

Montreal city council is expected to formally approve the 6-tower mixed-use project to be built on the site of the former Montreal Children’s Hospital.

This after following some recommendations aimed at improving it.

The plan from property management company Devimco has received the blessing from the city’s executive committee.

Among other things, the work will include three times as many units for families with children.

The city, however, ignored the Montreal public concultation office recommendation to taper the project from six, 32-storey towers to five.

The aim was to diminish the overall density and allow a connection to two green spaces on the site.

The housing units will total about 1,200.

Council's approval is expected Monday.
