Police looking for victims of child sex crime suspect

A 44-year-old man was arraigned in court Thursday, suspected of a number of sex-related crimes involving at least one minor. Police believe he may have victimized others.

Marcelo Berti Marques — who multiple reports suggest is a teacher at the National Circus School in Montreal — was arrested on Wednesday and now faces several charges, including luring, invitation to sexual contact, making sexually explicit material available to a minor and possession of child pornography.

He remains behind bars until a bail hearing Friday.

He stands six feet tall, weighs 150 pounds, and speaks French, Spanish and Portuguese.

The police department's sexual exploitation squad believes there may be other victims, and is calling on anyone who may have had contact with the suspect to call 9-1-1, or visit their local police station, to make a formal complaint.
