Police perplexed after finding injured man downtown

Montreal police are investigating the curious case of a man found lying injured on the sidewalk downtown.

The 33-year-old man was found on René-Lévesque Blvd. between St. André and St. Christophe at about 9:00 P.M.

According to police the man had injuries to his head, but the extent of the injuries wasn't immediately known.

Also not known to police is how the man was hurt. Despite being awake when officers arrived at the scene the man has not been cooperating with the investigation.

The man was taken to hospital and remains in critical care.

Several hours after the fact police were no closer to understanding what happened compared to when they first found the man.

How he was hurt and where he was when he was injured are still a mystery.
