Police searching for Jeep involved in Île-Perrot hit-and-run

Provincial police need your help tracking down the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Île-Perrot earlier this week.

The incident took place on January 29, at about 5:30 P.M.

Video released by Sûreté du Québec shows a pedestrian crossing 25th Ave. at the intersection of Boulevard Perrot when they are struck and sent flying into the air by a dark sport utility vehicle turning onto 25th Ave.

The impact threw the victim several metres, incredibly though he only suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle, which police believe is a Jeep Patriot, continued south on 25th Ave.

Investigators would like to speak with the driver, who could face two charges for failing to stop and give assistance to the injured man and failing to report the accident to authorities.

While it was snowing at the time of the accident police do not believe visibility was a factor.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sûreté du Québec Criminal Information Center at 1-800-659-4264.
