Police searching for SUV involved in overnight hit-and-run

Montreal police are looking for the driver of a white SUV following a hit-and-run downtown overnight.

According to investigators at about midnight a 31-year-old man on a scooter was stopped at the intersection of Sherbrooke and Drummond when he was struck by the SUV heading west on Sherbrooke.

The driver did not stop.

The scooter driver was rushed to hospital with injuries to his head. Doctors confirmed that his life is not in danger and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police closed the intersection as they spoke with witnesses and tried to gather evidence.

Investigators have not yet tracked down the white SUV or its driver.
