Police seek elderly victims of man suspected of extortion, death threats

Montreal police are seeking potential victims of a 69-year-old man who was arrested for uttering death threats and extortion involving elderly and otherwise vulnerable people who had borrowed money from a private lender to play video poker machines.

Investigators say the suspect would call the victims at all hours of the day and night and would often go directly to their home and demand payment under the threat of violence.

Denis Savaria is 69 years old, he has brown eyes and white hair, is 6'1", weighs about 195 pounds, and speaks English and French.
