Police watchdog investigates Montreal man's death
Quebec's police watchdog is investigating the death of a man who took his own life when confronted by Montreal police officers.
BEI is looking into the event that took place Friday at the Cote des Neige Plaza around 8 p.m.
They say a woman called 9-1-1 on her former spouse because she felt threatened when he showed up to her workplace.
The report says that the man made threats towards her new boyfriend and himself.
When two officers responded to the call, the 21-year-old man allegedly took his own life.
The independent investigation unit sent a team of eight law-enforcement officers, including two officers from Quebec's provincial police force.
They arrived around 11:30 p.m. to investigate.
BEI is asking anyone with information about the case to contact them.
